Admirals With Big Win In Regular Season Finale

by Justin Moses

River City Prep Admirals welcomed the #5 ranked Advance Prep Academy Panthers to Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday afternoon. This is the second time the two teams have faced each other in regular season play with the Admirals winning last season 48-6.

The Panthers were no easy opponent this time around scoring first to go up 6-0 at the end of the first quarter while the Admirals offense sputtered throughout much of the first half with a handful of missed opportunities. River City went into halftime up 8-6.

The second half the Admirals offense found their rhythm with QB Jabari Ruise and running back Brodie Ealy leading the way to take an early 22-6 lead before the Panthers made it interesting scoring late in the 3rd quarter ending it at 22-14.

The Admirals defense came up big with a couple huge stops and takeaways and a huge kick return by safety DJ Williams taking it in for a score to go up 30-14 early in the 4th quarter.

After a botched onside kick by the Admirals, the Panthers would once again find the endzone to bring the score to 30-20 before and onslaught of offensive touchdowns by WR Liam Kitzmiller and WR Xavier Cohen to give the Admirals a 44-20 win in the regular season finale.

River City now awaits the regular season poll and playoff opponents going into next weekend. Saty tuned for details.
