Admirals Name Ronnie Mason as Defensive Line Coach

Coach Mason was a 3-sport athlete while attending Southern Durham High school from 2001-2005. During that time, he obtained scholarship offers in all 3 sports: bowling, basketball and football.

Coach Mason didn’t start playing school sports until 10th grade for multiple reason.  In high school he played every position except offensive line and running back.

He signed a 4-year scholarship to Coastal Carolina University as an Athlete. Due to injuries, ended up playing Defensive end year one through year 4. Ronnie Mason made all conference twice as a sophomore 06’ and junior 07’ for the Chanticleers.

After Coastal Carolina Ronnie went off to play Arena football for 3 years. For the West Texas Roughnecks (made DPOY in 2011 season) on a team with the #1 defense in the IFL. 

Made camp for the CFL (Winnipeg Blue bombers) as DE/ LB. Had a workout with the New York Giants in 2013.

Coach Mason moved to Jax in 2013 and since then he has established a name for himself on and off the football fields.  He also earned a championship ring with the GDFL’s Florida Falcons playing TE and DE. 

As a trainer/ coach for a lot of athletes in Jacksonville under the TSDATHLETES program. He has coached at Mandarin High School as a Defensive Line coach in 2015, MAA 12U Defensive Coordinator 2015, Sandalwood High School Defensive line /Asst. DC in 2016 and 2017. ABA’s basketball team the St Augustine Glory’s Head coach during 2018-2019 season.

His specialties to coach are Wide Receiver/ TE, Defensive Line and Linebacker with a very high IQ for all positions.
